Lesson Goal:
In this activity, students will utilize collaborative word processing software to generate a table detailing information about earth's climate types. Students will use multimedia sources and internet articles to research information about their assigned climate zone.

Standards:
- NGSS PE 3-ESS2-2: Obtain and combine information to describe climates in different regions of the world.
- NGSS DCI ESS2-D: Climate describes a range of an area's typical weather conditions and the extent to which those conditions vary over years.
- RI.3.7: Use information gained from illustrations (e.g., maps, photographs) and the words in a text to demonstrate understanding of the text.
Materials:
- Science notebook - (to record thinking and research)
- 1 copy of the climate zone charts per team
- link to shared Google Doc - embedded below.
- (Note to teacher: Share the document so that everyone can edit. All students can work on the document at the same time and will be responsible for documenting their learning in the assigned row in the table. Students will access a variety of links, all embedded within the document, to develop their understanding of the topic.)
